Great News… A Social Emotional Learning Work Group will be formed.
The 2015-16 budget passed by the Washington State Legislature at the end of June 2015, included funding for the Office of the Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) to convene a workgroup to recommend comprehensive benchmarks for Social Emotional Learning skills. The workgroup will submit recommendations to the legislature by October 1, 2016.
We will send updates on the workgroup as it is formed including information on how you can follow the work and be involved.
Thank you for your continued support of this work. ALL of your voices were incredibly valuable in helping our legislators understand the importance of social and emotional skill development for Washington students. The message was loud and clear… We must address the needs of the whole child if we are to realize the successful outcomes we strive for with each and every student in Washington schools.
