OSPI initiates RFP for SEL Modules:
​

The Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) has initiated a Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit proposals from Consultants interested in participating on a project to develop and organize content for a Social and Emotional Learning web-based module for educators, administrators, and other relevant staff.

Social Emotional Learning Benchmarks Workgroup Report Released:                 

The Social Emotional Learning Benchmarks (SELB) workgroup that formed in October 2105 released their report today.

Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) Technical Report on Best Practices and Strategies for Reducing Disruptive Behavior:     
​

"Engrossed Substitute Senate Bill (ESSB) 5946 requires the Office of Superintendent of Public Instruction (OSPI) to convene a panel of experts to identify best practices in reducing disruptive classroom behavior. This panel developed a menu of best practices and strategies to help eligible students in grades K–12 served by the state’s Learning Assistance Program (LAP) to receive behavior supports and, by extension, improve their academic success."

"The Aspen Institute announced Tuesday it has launched a commission to accelerate the transfer of research about social and emotional skill-building — which includes developing the interpersonal skills that organizers say contribute to success in school, college and work — into teaching practices across the nation."
